Privacy notice
How we collect, use and protect your personal data. Last updated 9 October 2026.
Who we are
This notice explains how Advanced Safety and Training Solutions (“ASTS”, “we”) collects and uses personal data. We are the data controller for the personal data described here.
You can contact us about anything in this notice at info@asts.ie, by phone on 042 966 8270, or by post to Cill na Lón, Kingscourt, Co. Meath.
What we collect
We only collect what we need to answer enquiries, deliver training and consultancy, and run the business:
- Enquiries: your name, company, phone number, email address and anything you tell us in your message, whether you email, phone or use the form on this website.
- Course participants: name, employer, attendance, assessment results and certificates issued, plus any other details an awarding body requires to issue a certificate.
- Clients: contact details of the people we deal with, and information about your workplace that we need for safety statements, risk assessments and audits.
- Billing: names, addresses and payment records for invoicing.
The enquiry form on this website does not store anything. It opens your own email app with your details filled in, and nothing is sent until you send that email.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote: to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, or our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
- To deliver courses and consultancy and issue certificates: to perform our contract with you or your employer.
- To register results and certificates with awarding bodies: to perform that contract and meet the awarding bodies’ requirements.
- To keep accounts and tax records: to comply with our legal obligations.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for marketing lists.
Who we share it with
- The awarding or accrediting body for the course you attend, such as QQI, RTITB or EHAI, to certify the training.
- Your employer, where they booked the training, so they have a record of who attended and qualified.
- Associate trainers and consultants who deliver work on our behalf.
- Our accountant, and service providers that run our email and host this website (Cloudflare).
Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, they rely on safeguards approved under data protection law, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to a booking: only as long as we need to deal with the enquiry.
- Training records and certificates: as long as needed to verify and reissue certificates and to meet awarding bodies’ requirements.
- Accounting and tax records: 6 years, as required by Irish tax law.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. Email info@asts.ie and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission at www.dataprotection.ie.
