Overview
Every business is required under Irish law to hold a company-specific Safety Statement documenting its safe working practices and policies.
Section 20 of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 requires every organisation to produce a written policy to safeguard the safety and health of employees while they work. Customers, visitors and members of the public must also be considered. The Safety Statement represents a company’s commitment to safety, health and welfare and should influence all work activities, from the selection of competent people to the way work is done and the equipment and materials chosen.
What we do
ASTS carries out a systematic and holistic examination of your business to identify any hazards that exist. We then advise on suitable control measures to eliminate or reduce identified risks to an acceptable level.
A Safety Statement should be reviewed and updated in line with changes in work practices, company structure and legislation, and must be communicated to all staff in a form they understand. ASTS can provide translation if required.
